LaShawn Jones - The current analysis was conducted using data collected by the Mintel Group on the topic of financial literacy. The key purposes of collecting this data were to determine whether or not financial literacy is being taught, to understand the major financial challenges consumers feel are holding them back, and to determine whether consumers are interested in learning more ways to be financially literate. Topics included in this research range from financial product ownership and financial habits to sources of information about personal finance. The data not only presents different categories of consumer research but it also aggregates the data by demographics, such as race, age, gender, and household income.
